NSRI Welcomes New Era Under Leadership of Mike Vonk as CEO

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is set to embrace a new chapter as it welcomes Mike Vonk to the helm as its Chief Executive Officer. Mike Vonk is not a new face within the NSRI community. His engagement stretches over 14 years of dedicated service, evolving from his roots as a volunteer into leadership roles such as Deputy Station Commander, before taking charge as the Station Commander at the Wilderness Station (Station 23). Vonk’s ascent within the institute is reflective of his comprehensive understanding of the maritime rescue domain and his unyielding commitment to the vision of a water-safe nation. His hands-on experience in both proactive and reactive aspects of sea rescue further fortifies his ability to lead the NSRI.

Throughout his time at the George Regional Hospital, Vonk honed his executive skills, learning the ropes of managing a major healthcare provider as CEO for 13 years. This blend of his medical administration prowess and first-hand rescue insight makes Vonk an exceptional choice for guiding the NSRI through its future endeavors and challenges.
