Amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry met his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Cairo. The high-level discussion revolved heavily around the unfolding crisis in the Gaza Strip and the issue of displaced Palestinians being deported to Egypt.

With escalating tensions and humanitarian issues centered around the Gaza Strip, both ministers stressed the importance of overcoming the negative impacts affecting the Palestinian people. They jointly called for adherence to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians from targeted harm.

Fidan, manifesting Turkey’s stance on the crisis, unabashedly condemned any attacks on innocent civilians. He also expressed Turkey's firm disapproval of Israel's policy of displacing Palestinians and forcing them into Egypt. "We oppose this policy to the end, and we stand with Egypt on this issue," he stated.

Updating on the well-being of Turkish citizens in the war-ravaged region, Fidan informed that they had succeeded in evacuating 30 individuals who held dual citizenship. The Israeli Embassy in Turkey previously announced one Turkish citizen had tragically died in a Hamas attack.

Israel, in response to Hamas' advance on its southern border, has been intensely bombarding the Gaza Strip. The dead toll is rising, with reports of approximately 1,300 people killed on Israeli soil by Hamas and Gaza authorities reporting 2,215 lives claimed by Israeli bombardments.
