Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, a key tourist attraction in Cape Town, South Africa, reached a significant milestone by welcoming its 32 millionth visitor since its inception in 1929. On January 14, Gavin Beckmann from Bloemfontein became the lucky 32 millionth guest to experience the spectacular views from one of the most iconic mountains in the world.

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) expressed their delight in reaching this landmark number. To commemorate the occasion, they not only recognized Beckmann with celebratory posts on social media but also rewarded him with an exciting prize package. This included two Fast Track tickets, a lunch for two at the exquisite VIEWS by De Grendel restaurant, and a voucher for the mountain’s Shop at the Top.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, TMACC shared their gratitude towards all visitors, stating, "We want to extend a huge thank you to every single person who has made this journey with us to the top of Table Mountain. Your love and support help us continue to bring breathtaking views to the world!"

The cableway has been an indispensable part of the Cape Town tourism landscape, offering millions a unique and scenic route to the top of Table Mountain, a site listed among the New7Wonders of Nature. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, the cableway has continued to attract visitors, with scores of smiling families recorded this past December holiday season.

Selma Hercules, Executive Director for TMACC, reflected on the recent holiday season surge, "For most people coming to Cape Town, our beloved mountain has always been the one thing they don’t want to miss." Hercules emphasized the commitment to safety and comfort, attributing the successful management of visitor experiences to team effort.

Each visit to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway provides a panoramic view of Cape Town’s cityscape and the surrounding ocean, making it a must-visit destination. Recent milestones like the 32nd million visitor highlight the enduring appeal of this natural wonder and the dedication of TMACC to preserve and enhance visitor experiences.
