In a significant escalation of cross-border hostilities, Afghan Taliban forces have struck multiple locations within Pakistan, a move that comes shortly after Pakistan conducted aerial bombardments inside Afghanistan. This information was revealed by Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense, suggesting a retaliatory action aimed at targets they describe as hubs for hostilities against Afghanistan.

The Afghan Defense Ministry's statement, while not explicitly naming Pakistan, referred to targets beyond the "hypothetical line," a term used to delineate the contentious Durand Line border, which Afghanistan has historically disputed. Enayatullah Khowarazmi, a spokesman for the ministry, highlighted that these targets were in areas considered outside of Pakistan’s territory from Afghanistan's perspective.

This series of military engagements indicates a severe deterioration in relations between the two countries, each accusing the other of harboring and supporting militant activities across their respective borders.
