Urgent Manhunt Underway in Swartruggens for Three Dangerous Escapees

An intensive manhunt has been initiated by the Swartruggens police following the daring escape of three detainees from the local police station's holding cells last Sunday, December 8, 2024. Authorities were able to apprehend one of the initial four escapees, a 23-year-old male, while he was attempting to hitchhike along the N4 road near Swartruggens plaza. The three men still at large are:

1. Mpho Vincent Madito, 29, previously detained in connection with four reported rape incidents in Swartruggens and Makgobistad.

2. Thapelo Mogwele Molebatsi, 25, who was in custody related to theft charges in Swartruggens.

3. Johannes Mfaladi, 28, held for assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH).
