In a linked operation, further probing led officers to a premises in Mfuleni. Two adult males were arrested at this scene for possession of the hijacked vehicle, the imitation firearm, and presumably stolen property.

The arrested individuals are expected to face legal proceedings in the Bluedowns and Athlone Magistrates’ courts. These arrests reflect a significant win for the local law enforcement in their ongoing battle against economic crimes and illegal activities in Cape Town. Such operations not only help in apprehending those directly involved in criminal acts but also play a vital role in deterring potential criminals by disruption of criminal networks and removal of illegal weapons from the streets.
