In the heart of South Africa's judicial narrative, amidst the impactful 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign, stands a formidable figure in the law enforcement community — Constable Mosiuwa Ntholeng. As an integral member of the Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations (SECI) Unit based in Bloemfontein, Free State, Constable Ntholeng’s primary focus lies in tackling serial rape and electronic-based sexual crimes.

Since 2017, when Ntholeng joined the SECI team, he has been pivotal in incarcerating 26 sexual criminals, sentencing them to a combined total of 12 life terms and 665 years in prison. These numbers are especially significant in Ntholeng's career, showcasing his commitment and relentless effort in ensuring justice is served.

One notable case in Ntholeng's career involved serial rapist Moeketsi Sidwell 'Keke' Lebuso, who was recently sentenced by the Bethlehem Regional Court to three life terms and an additional 7 years for multiple counts of rape and grievous bodily harm.

It is Ntholeng’s acute investigative skills that have allowed him to meticulously link evidence across various cases. Another prominent investigation under his belt regarded a 56-year-old businessman from Dealesville, accused of sexually abusing several children. Although the accused died before a conviction was made, Ntholeng’s thorough investigation processes ensured that the survivors were heard and supported.

The constable’s career is adorned with commendations and accolades, one of them being a commendation certificate presented by the National Commissioner of the SAPS in 2020, honoring his remarkable investigative skills. Constable Ntholeng’s ethos and dedication to his profession resonate through his own words, "Being a detective is my calling – it gives me great pleasure to solve complex cases."

Through his work, Constable Ntholeng not only administers the law but also provides a comforting presence to the survivors, often checking on their well-being, which underscores his holistic approach to the rehabilitative component of justice. His efforts extend beyond the call of duty, reflecting a deep-seated dedication to the service of his country and its citizens, positioning him as a guardian of justice and an advocate for the voiceless.
