Turmoil in Katlehong: Pastor Mboro's Church Torched Amidst School Custody Battle

Chaos erupted in the community of Katlehong this past week when Pastor Mboro, known outside of his church as Paseka Motsoeneng, was implicated in a contentious custody dispute resulting in a panga-wielding incident at Matshidiso Primary School. Following this confrontation, his church, Incredible Happenings Ministry, was consumed by fire at the hands of enraged learners and residents.

The fateful chain of events commenced when Pastor Mboro and two associates reportedly entered the school premises on Monday, brandishing a machete and removed two boys, who are understood to be in the center of a family custody dispute following their mother's death in April this year.

Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, Gauteng's police commissioner, confirmed that the situation escalated quickly prompting police intervention. To date, five individuals have been apprehended with accusations ranging from intimidation and assault to reckless endangerment with a firearm and unlicensed security service provision, not to mention the irreparable torching of property. Colonel Noxolo Kweza, spokesperson for the Gauteng police, provided assurances that the suspects will face the full extent of the law, starting with their imminent appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

Notably, during this chaotic incident, an assault on the Station Commander at the Katlehong North police station occurred, leading to another arrest.
