Police Uncover Human Trafficking Operation and Rescue Kidnap Victim in Johannesburg

In a significant operation, the Special Task Force (STF) unit of the South African Police Service (SAPS) rescued 90 Ethiopian nationals, who were undocumented and held against their will, from a property in Sunnydale Ridge, Johannesburg. The dramatic raid took place as police were tracing a kidnapping victim and stumbled upon this separate, grim reality.

These Ethiopian individuals were discovered during a meticulously planned raid by a multidisciplinary task force headed by SAPS STF. They were found in confined spaces, packed into rooms, highlighting an inhumane picture of human suffering and disregard for basic rights.
