Major General Condemns Violent Fatal Shooting at Mpumalanga Tavern

The tranquility of a Mpumalanga tavern was shattered in the early hours of Monday, July 28, 2024, when an armed group unleashed a hail of bullets, leaving two dead in their wake and a community reeling from shock. At approximately 00h45, five suspects reportedly stormed the local tavern. Among the victims was a 15-year-old teenager, tragically the son of the establishment's owner. The identity of the second fatality remains unknown at this time, while a third victim, allegedly part of the assailant group, also later died from injuries sustained.

With the shooters fleeing post-incident, enraged bystanders managed to corner one gunman. A brutal beating ensued, and amidst the chaos, the suspect's firearm vanished.
