The Unanswered Questions: Durban Family Seeks Truth in Teen's Tragic Death

The Mgwaba family from Durban is racked with grief and unanswered questions following the untimely demise of their daughter, 18-year-old Nonkanyiso Mgwaba, under perplexing circumstances. Known affectionately as Nonka, the spirited young teen's life came to a sudden and mysterious end, evoking a pained quest for clarity among her loved ones.

In the twilight of June 2024, Nonka left her KwaMashu home with her older boyfriend, embarking on what seemed a regular weekend getaway. However, distress swept through the family when the boyfriend conveyed on the following night that Nonka had vanished after allegedly leaping from his vehicle while driving. The gravity of the situation escalated as she was located, barely alive, on the side of the N3 highway, and despite the emergency response, succumbed to her injuries in the King Edward Hospital's high care unit on July 1.
