Uganda's President Names Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba New Military Chief Amidst Succession Speculations

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has made a significant move in the nation's military leadership by positioning his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as the head of the military, as per the announcement by the Ugandan defence ministry on Friday. General Kainerugaba, 48, who previously stirred controversy with his social media comments, now assumes a crucial role in the country's armed forces, succeeding Wilson Mbasu Mbadi.

The appointment sustains the widespread belief that Kainerugaba is being groomed for the presidency.
