Governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, directly attributed the drone assault to Kyiv, accentuating the geopolitical frictions exacerbated by Russia's military actions in Ukraine since February 2022. The governor also noted the possibility of additional missile strikes in the area, which heightens the security concerns for surrounding districts.
