ActionSA Nominates Former Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Athol Trollip as Premier Candidate for Eastern Cape

In a strategic move ahead of the high-stakes 2024 national and provincial elections, ActionSA, the South African political party under the leadership of Herman Mashaba, has officially declared Athol Trollip as the party’s choice for the Eastern Cape premiership. Herman Mashaba emphasized Trollip's capabilities, citing his proven track record in administration that positions him to take immediate action upon assuming office. “He knows how to efficiently run an administration, and will therefore be able to hit the ground running to fix the province,” Mashaba stated.

ActionSA also announced additional premier candidate appointments, including Patricia Kopane for the Free State, Thoko Mashiane for Mpumalanga, and other representatives for North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, and Limpopo. The appointed individuals each bring their unique expertise and regional knowledge to ActionSA’s diverse leadership tableau.

The party noted that its representative for the Western Cape will be revealed in due course, demonstrating a methodical approach to their broader campaign strategy.
