New Accusations Emerge Against Actor Jonathan Majors Amid Overturned Verdict Appeal

The legal troubles for actor Jonathan Majors have deepened with the emergence of two new accusers, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, levying allegations of physical and emotional abuse against him. These accusations surface two months after Majors' conviction for recklessly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, and just as his attorney seeks to overturn the verdict.

Emma Duncan's claims, as reported by The New York Times, suggest a pattern of violent behavior by Majors, including a disturbing incident in July 2016 where she alleges the actor choked and threatened her. Maura Hooper, another ex-girlfriend from his time at Yale's drama school, recounts a period of intense control and emotional manipulation. Adding layers to the story, a dozen sources corroborated these claims in a Rolling Stone's investigation.

Facing a recklessly assault conviction from a March 2023 arrest, Majors was acquitted of the more severe charges brought against him. Despite a potential year of imprisonment hanging over him, his attorney's motions have postponed the sentencing, scheduled originally for April 8.

In an attempt to seal previous allegations referred to as Molineux evidence, Majors' attorney, Priya Chaudhry, argued for the protection of her client's reputation against what she deemed "unproven allegations." Amidst these legal maneuvers, a third woman, anonymously named "Anna" by The Cut, also shared her experience of a threatening letter allegedly from Chaudhry's firm as she considered sharing her story, deterring her from public involvement.

These new allegations are consistent with the disturbing details of abuse shared by Jabbari during her trial testimony. She painted a troubling picture of their dynamic, characterized by Majors' erratic behavior, intimidation tactics, and psychological hold over her.

Adding to the complexity, Majors, in an ABC News interview, starkly denied any abusive conduct throughout his past relationships. He attributed his behavior to a lack of experience and untreated personal issues while vehemently asserting he had never physically harmed any woman.

As these new allegations and past convictions entangle, Majors finds his career in jeopardy. His standing in ongoing and future projects, such as Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he portrayed Kang the Conqueror, has faced damaging setbacks.
