Schauderville Burglary Escalates to Sexual Offense, Suspect Flees Court Appearance

In a bizarre and unsettling incident, a Schauderville woman experienced a harrowing intrusion when a man allegedly broke into her house, used her underwear in a fetish act, and committed theft, culminating in a set of grave charges that now loom over the fugitive.

The ordeal unfolded when the victim awoke to the sight of an intruder in her home. The suspect, bizarrely, donned her underwear on his head and proceeded to self-gratify in her presence – a shocking act of violation. Further compounding the woman's distress, he insisted she engage with him by mimicking sexual sounds during the act. Upon fulfilling his intentions, the man nonchalantly seized the woman's cellphone and departed, leaving behind a trail of trauma and disbelief.

The suspect, a 35-year-old male whose name has been withheld pending his plea, faces serious allegations including housebreaking, theft, and compelling a person to witness a sexual offence. All these charges point towards a disturbing pattern of behaviour carrying significant legal consequences.

The accused was expected to appear before the Gqeberha Magistrates Court to respond to these charges. However, in an unforeseen turn of events emblematic of his disregard for the law, he failed to present himself at the scheduled hearing. The ensuing search within the courthouse premises was unproductive, prompting the judicial authorities to issue an immediate warrant for his apprehension.

The legal process against the accused began shortly after the incident was initially reported to the police in January 2022. Following his arrest on the 15th of January, he made an initial court appearance at the Gelvandale Magistrates Court. Subsequently, due to the sexual nature of one of the alleged offenses, the case was transferred to a higher court.
