Taxi Turmoil in Eastern Cape: Three Guards Dead, Child Injured Amid Clash

The Eastern Cape became the scene of a deadly skirmish early Tuesday when an alleged altercation between two taxi associations in Lusikisiki and Port St Johns spiraled into fatal violence. Three security personnel were mercilessly shot and killed, with five additional individuals suffering injuries amidst the gunfire which pierced the morning air, stirring fear and chaos among the residents.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu confirmed the casualties and said that an 11-year-old boy became an unintended victim when he was hit by a stray bullet during the outbreak of violence. The young victim was promptly transported to a local hospital for emergency care.
