An ongoing investigation into the tragic death of Hartenbos businessman Desmond Share has led to the identification of a fourth suspect, according to Western Cape police. After an extensive inquiry, police are now appealing for public assistance as they strive to track down Zimbabwean national, Danzel 'Talent' Alkuleti, who is alleged to be involved in the heinous crime.

The unsettling saga began when Share, aged 53, left Hartenbos for Herbertsdale on August 1st but never returned home, prompting his family to report him as missing. His life was brutally cut short, as his body was discovered hidden in the underbrush between Herbertsdale and Albertinia on August 5th. Adding to the family’s distress, Share’s stolen Ford Ranger bakkie was found abandoned at Ficksburg near the Lesotho border on August 8th.

Sergeant Chris Spies, acting as spokesperson for the Western Cape police, reported that though one suspect – 30-year-old Shadreck Mhetu – is currently behind bars facing charges for kidnapping and murder, the search for the remaining suspects remains fervent.

While Shown Gondo (31) and Akim Gondo (25) are still evading capture, the authorities are particularly focused on Alkuleti due to the recent development in the investigation.

Mhetu, the captured suspect, awaits his forthcoming appearance in the Mossell Bay Magistrates’ Court on December 20th for a bail application, which will further impact the progression of the case.

In an effort to expedite the capture of the fugitives, investigation officer Warrant Officer Arleen Stokes has made a public plea for any information that can aid in their apprehension. Sgt. Spies has emphasized the significance of community engagement and shared that the investigation is at an advanced stage, suggesting that new leads and evidence may soon shed more light on the events surrounding Share’s disappearance and death.

The Western Cape police department has committed its full resources to seek justice for the Share family and promises to leave no stone unturned in the quest to bring the perpetrators to book. The department echoes the call for anyone with pertinent information to get in touch with Da Gamaskop police without delay, ensuring that all tips are treated with strict confidentiality and the utmost importance.

Those with knowledge of the whereabouts of any of the suspects, particularly Alkuleti, or any related information are urgently encouraged to step forward, helping to provide Desmond Share's family and loved ones with the closure they desperately need and the justice they rightfully deserve.
