This year, the "Really Awesome Gaming Expo," known affectionately as rAge, returns to the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, from December 8th to 10th, for an unforgettable weekend dedicated to video gaming, technology, esports, and digital entertainment.

As South Africa's longest-running exhibition in this domain, rAge has played a crucial role in nurturing and elevating the gaming and tech community. Each year thousands of enthusiasts gather with anticipation, making it a highly awaited event filled with unique experiences and the latest in entertainment technology.

The 2023 edition is underlined by a mix of nostalgia and innovation as rAge turns 21. Attendees can expect an assortment of enthralling attractions, aligning with the interests of hardcore gamers, aspiring developers, esports aficionados, and tech enthusiasts.

One of the headlining features is the Carry1st VALZA Cup, hosted in partnership with African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL). As Africa's premiere game publisher, Carry1st is setting up South Africa's largest Valorant tournament, entailing a prize pool of R150,000. In addition to watching the continent's elite esports competitors vie for glory, attendees can engage in live-play and compete in challenges for popular games, with a chance to win incredible prizes including electronics and gaming merchandise.

Technology and interactive experiences are further enhanced with KOODOO's presence at the expo. As a locally beloved video game store, KOODOO will provide attendees with a firsthand experience of the PlayStation Virtual Reality 2 (PSVR2). Participants can delve into the virtual world of Spider-Man 2, experience high-adrenaline action, or showcase their singing skills at the virtual karaoke parties.

For younger tech enthusiasts and budding coders, the Unplugged Coding with Six Bricks initiative offers a unique and tangible method of learning computer science and robotics. Presented by the educational NGO, Care for Education, this concept is designed to equip children with critical digital skills in an engaging manner. The Kidz Zone at rAge will feature various levels of coding exercises and a large Lego building area for attendees of all ages to embrace their creativity.
