In a celebrated career milestone, South African defender Siyabonga Ngezana has received an esteemed accolade for his striking performance in the Romanian Cup competition. From overcoming initial challenges abroad, the former Kaizer Chiefs defender has established himself as a vital component of the Romanian football titan, FCSB.
Recognising the exceptional talent within its ranks, Ngezana was crowned the best player for round one of the Romania Cup. This came as FCSB achieved a remarkable 2-0 victory against opposing Group C team, Bihor Oradea, in September. Not only was Ngezana praised as the Man of the Match, but his scoring prowess also shone through as he netted a goal for his team via a soaring header.
Since then, Ngezana's team has demonstrated a formidable performance. In the competition, FCSB secured a draw and consequently raised their total points to four. In the SuperLiga, FCSB remains at the pinnacle with nine triumphs from 14 matches. Though undefeated in their recent five games, the team needs to address the fact that they have clocked two draws in the past three games. This season, Ngezana has played in nine matches across all tournaments, contributing to the team with one goal and assistance.
FCSB is slated to face FC Rapid București on Sunday in what promises to be another thrilling chapter in Ngezana's European adventure.
