South Africa's primary electricity provider, Eskom, has confirmed a revision of its load-shedding timetable for the upcoming week. To the relief of the public, there will be a hiatus in load-shedding during most hours of the day, effective until further notice.

The modification comes in the wake of an improvement in generation capacity coupled with adequate emergency reserves. This improvement aims to minimise the disruption of everyday life and business operations across South Africa.

According to the revised schedule, Eskom will adopt Stage 2 load-shedding from 16:00 on Sunday, 5th November 2023 until 05:00 on Monday, 6th November 2023, a schedule previously communicated. Post this interval, load-shedding will be lifted from 05:00 to 16:00 on Monday.

The revised pattern of suspending load-shedding during the daytime and invoking Stage 2 load-shedding during peak evening hours will be practiced daily until further notice. The power utility, Eskom, stated, “Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur.”
