Siya Kolisi, Captain of South Africa's iconic Springboks rugby team, had the honor of lifting the revered Webb Ellis trophy once again, as his team claimed their second successive World Cup title this past Saturday. The victory came at the end of a thrilling game against long-time rivals, New Zealand, at the Stade de France in Paris.

The Springboks have now won by a single point in their last three knockout games; a testament to their relentless perseverance and competitive spirit. This is only the second time they have faced New Zealand in a World Cup final.

Player of the Match, Pieter-Steph du Toit, lauded their journey to the final as "quite tough", with their previous one-point victories against the host team, France, and England in the semi-final.

Captain Kolisi, who was sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes, was momentarily lost for words at the victory but acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by the All Blacks. He commended New Zealand’s on-field performance and also expressed sincere gratitude to the millions of South Africans back at home for their incessant support throughout the tournament.

South Africa's triumph, however, came at a cost, with hooker Bongi Mbonambi being forced off early in the match due to a dangerous tackle by Shannon Frizell of New Zealand. Cheslin Kolbe also saw 10 minutes in the sin bin, remaining on tenterhooks until the final whistle.

New Zealand’s Beauden Barrett managed the sole try of the match, alongside Richie Mounga’s three successful penalty kicks. South Africa's twelve points came principally from the boot of Handre Pollard, who notably ended the match with a bloodied face.

Witnessing this indelible moment of sports history from the sidelines was none other than the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, who proudly raised the Webb Ellis trophy alongside the triumphant Springboks for the fourth time.
