Pop icon Britney Spears has unveiled specifics about her fleeting affair with Hollywood actor Colin Farrell, terming their connection as a "two-week brawl", in her forthcoming memoir, "The Woman In Me."
Published excerpts from the memoir, obtained by Time, demonstrate that the musician reflected deeply on her highly-publicized break-up with Timberlake and the roller coaster romance that followed with Farrell. "We were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight", Spears notes.
The pop sensation was introduced to seasoned actor Farrell via a mutual friend, a club promoter. The two soon formed a bond, which had Spears visiting Farrell during the filming of "S.W.A.T", and accompanying him to the "The Recruit" premiere in 2003.
Despite the heated connection she developed with Farrell, Spears admits she was still holding on to feelings for her ex, Timberlake, ignoring his recent dalliances with multiple women in an attempt to convince herself that it "was not a big deal" and she was purely "having fun" with Farrell.
Spears indicates that, briefly, she imagined the possibility that her relationship with the "Banshees of Inisherin" actor could turn into something substantial. Alas, the reality turned out differently. “The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time,” bemoans the Grammy award-winning singer in her memoir.
On his end, Farrell insisted on their casual relationship status back in 2003, terming Spears a "sweet, sweet girl" and staunchly denying any romantic involvement. Echoing similar sentiments, Spears affirmed during the same year that the fling was "nothing serious".
