South Africa's national rugby team, the Springboks, are resolute in their objective to claim victory at the World Cup, ahead of their high-stakes quarterfinal duel against France at Saint-Denis this Sunday. The revelation came from Springboks' Head Coach, Jacques Nienaber, in a pre-match press conference.

The Boks, recognised as defending champions, will face a stiff contest playing France at the historic Stade de France, amidst a considerably biased local audience. Irrespective, Nienaber remains unperturbed, asserting their readiness to deal with an extraordinarily tough initial knockout match.

"Our mission has been clear since we convened in 2020—to win the World Cup. Whoever it is against matters little, we anticipated a challenging quarterfinal against France or New Zealand," said Nienaber.

World Rugby's anomaly of a system that selects pools for successive World Cups, has controversially led to two of the top four global sides slated to exit post-quarterfinals. Springboks' Coach Nienaber, nevertheless, has proclaimed expectations for close and engaging quarterfinal encounters on both sides of the draw.

"With Ireland and New Zealand also in play, we anticipate highly competitive matches. All teams harbor hopes of reaching the semifinals," he remarked.

Nienaber lauded the French team, outlining its strength and dominant kicking game under the guidance of Shaun Edwards, the defence coach. He underscored the necessity for the Boks to employ strategic approaches and seize opportunities offered on the day.

“All four teams playing this weekend are strong, including the French, who can pressurize and coax errors out of opponents—a well-rounded squad that we must strive to outperform throughout the eighty minutes of play," said Nienaber.
