Amidst the tension and iconic scenes of the hit Paramount Network series 'Yellowstone,' the sumptuous meals served in the dining room by the on-set chef often stand out. Gabriel “Gator” Guilbeau, the culinary force behind 'Yellowstone's' food, has recently revealed some interesting insights about feeding over 300 people on set including the legendary actor Kevin Costner.
Guilbeau doubles up as the craft service director on Yellowstone, creating mouth-watering meals like pineapple bourbon bread pudding, a favourite amongst both the crew and the stars, including Costner. Regarding Kevin's culinary preferences, Guilbeau reveals, "Kevin Costner is a difficult person to feed, mostly because he appreciates simplicity. Straightforward ingredients and uncomplicated recipes like bread pudding work well."
In one memorable episode, the on-screen family - the Duttons - were served octopus. As it turns out, Costner's on-screen reaction of revulsion was not an act. "Kevin is a very picky eater. He would never venture to eat octopus in reality," Guilbeau adds. This candid on-set revelation adds a touch of humour to the often intense ambiance of Yellowstone.
Despite being a self-professed 'simple eater', Kevin Costner is reportedly a fan of Guilbeau's food on set and eagerly looks forward to trying new dishes. Guilbeau concludes, revealing the actor's previous dietary preferences, "Before he met me, I think he survived solely on canned chili and hotdogs."
Fans can stream Yellowstone, including its fifth season, through a Peacock subscription and look forward to more insider scoops from the set alongside the unfolding plot twists of the popular modern Western drama.
