Jada Pinkett Smith, estranged wife of Hollywood actor Will Smith, has recently disclosed plans of possibly sharing a roof with her estranged husband again in the future. This news follows an in-depth interview where the actress revealed her separation from Smith since 2016 and discussed the fallout from the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
In an engaging discussion with The Times, Jada expressed the likelihood of moving back in with Will in the future to care for him in his twilight years. The duo, married for three decades and parents to musicians Jaden and Willow Smith, have been leading separate lives for the past seven years, unknown to the public until Jada disclosed the truth in a candid 'Today' show interview.
Expounding on the matter, Jada stated, “I think eventually we will [live together again]. Will's getting old. I'm staying quite young, but it's becoming evident to me that he'll need someone to care for him.”
The separation, although quiet, didn't amount to divorce for the couple. Jada further expressed that they felt it wasn't the right path for them despite the breakdown of their marriage leading to their decision to part ways.
The Chris Rock incident at the Oscars, involving Will slapping Rock following a joke about Jada's bald head, was another high-profile event that brought the couple under scrutiny. Jada faced criticism and blame in the wake of the incident due to rumours of her infidelity with singer August Alsina during their separation.
Furthermore, Jada's upcoming book Worthy (launching on October 17) promises a deeper dive into her life's journey, her relationship with late rapper Tupac Shakur, and her marital trials with Will Smith.
