Spearheading the Proteas offense was Quinton de Kock, his bat flashing as he accomplished a staggering 109 off 106 balls; a superb century marking his second in as many games in this global tournament. This performance earned de Kock the coveted Man of the Match in the showdown at Lucknow.
Providing ample support in the batting line-up, Aiden Markram contributed a bustling 56, while Captain Temba Bavuma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Rassie van der Dussen put up commendable performances, adding 35, 29 and 26 runs respectively. This victory follows the Proteas' incredible performance in the match against Sri Lanka where they romped home with a World Cup record for the highest total in the Men's ODI World Cup of 428 for five.
