Hawks Assign Major Probe into Gqeberha Kidnapping and Murder Case

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, popularly known as the Hawks, has taken over a disturbing case of kidnapping and murder that took place in Gqeberha. According to information relayed by the police, a 33-year-old man was fatally shot at a scrap metal dealership in Hart Street, in the Sidwell area on Tuesday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, confirmed that the man died at the scene of the shooting. She added that the father of the deceased was reportedly abducted by an estimated group of six assailants. The suspects left the crime scene in a Toyota Corolla. The hasty retreat of the perpetrators drastically escalated the situation and elevated the case to the attention of the nation’s elite law enforcement agency.
