Rassie Erasmus, the director of Rugby for South Africa, has expressed confidence in the Springboks after they completed their Pool B program with a convincing 49-18 win against Tonga in Marseille on Sunday. This victory is a welcome addition to the team’s 15 points amassed from their games. In spite of a somewhat setback from their 13-8 loss to Ireland, the team still stands in good stead qualifying for the quarter-finals, as Erasmus assured.

Erasmus takes comfort in the fact that the Springboks have done their part in their quest for qualification, as opposed to other teams like Ireland who are still somewhat in limbo. As per his statement, "I'd rather sit here than be Ireland knowing that we've been number one in the world all the time and Scotland basically just have to beat them by eight points, and they are out of the tournament."

Despite the looming uncertainty, Springbok's assistant coach, Deon Davids, stated that the team is preparing in advance for different scenarios that could arise from the conclusion of Pool A's games.

Going forward, Springboks will have a two-week rest where the team will analyse the three potential teams they could compete against in future games. This precious time allows them to cover all their bases and prepare adequately for the quarter-finals.

As South Africa waits with bated breath to see who emerges victorious between Pool A's runners-up and winners to proceed to the quarterfinals, it's clear that rugby lovers nationwide are rallying behind the Springboks.
