Prominent South African actor, David Rees, has found himself back in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following quadruple heart surgery and a subsequent surgical procedure to treat a lung infection. These procedures, which occurred on September 1st, have intensified an already gruelling journey towards recovery for Rees, who is popularly celebrated for his portrayal of Chris Welman on the longstanding soap opera 7de Laan.

Rees, who had previously suffered a heart attack on August 6, was discharged from the hospital and returned home on August 26, a moment his family joyously announced. However, the jubilant news was short-lived as the actor now finds himself once again placed in critical care.

A call to action has been launched on David Rees' Facebook page, urgently appealing for continued financial aid and moral support from the public to assist with his recovery. The message highlighted the lack of medical insurance coverage for the actor and stressed the potentially overwhelming challenges ahead.

7de Laan, Rees' beloved acting platform, is expected to conclude after its 24th season in December. Contact Corlia Strauss at 082 546 9128 or via corlia@socialinabox.co.za for inquiries and offers of help.
