Durban Woman Rams Bag-Snatching Suspect in Dramatic Chase

In an audacious scene of personal justice in Durban, South Africa, a Bluff woman's handbag robbery transformed into a dramatic vehicle pursuit, culminating in the victim running over one of the suspects with her Toyota Tazz. The incident was caught in its entirety on CCTV cameras last Wednesday.

The CCTV footage from a Bluff shopping centre shows the unsuspecting woman driving her vehicle towards a boom gate. As she readies herself to feed the parking ticket into the machine at the exit, two men boldly approach her car, open the door and it's not long before one of them makes away with her bag.

However, the victim sweetly turns tables on the perpetrators. As one thief makes his escape in a white Toyota Etios, the woman pursues the other in her car. The dramatic second CCTV footage caught from a local petrol station shows the suspect sprinting towards the road, but the determined woman drives right into him.

The police have reacted swiftly to the incident, with Colonel Robert Netshiunda of KwaZulu-Natal police reporting the arrest of one suspect in connection with the daylight robbery. Commending the woman's courage, albeit recklessly dangerous, Bluff ward councillor Zoe Solomon urged locals to continuously be vigilant on personal safety, highlighting the unfortunately high crime rate even in small communities such as theirs.
