Set Sail to Skip Politics: Villa Vie Residences Launches Four-Year Cruise to Escape U.S. Politics

In an innovative response to the divisive political climate in the United States, Florida-based cruise company Villa Vie Residences has introduced a unique opportunity for those looking to steer clear of the tumult. The newly announced Tour La Vie program offers an extended, globe-trotting cruise spanning up to four years aboard the luxurious Villa Vie Odyssey. This extensive itinerary has been designed to cater to Americans seeking a hiatus from the political landscape back home during President-elect Donald Trump's second term.

Tour La Vie presents several packages ranging from one to four years. The options include the one-year “Escape from Reality,” two-year “Mid-Term Selection,” three-year “Everywhere but Home,” and the complete four-year “Skip Forward” journey. With prices initiating at $40,000 per annum for the shortest escape, and ascending to $256,000 for single occupancy or $320,000 for double occupancy for the entire four-year voyage, the trip is the epitome of a luxurious escape. This fee covers not only accommodations but also all meals and beverages, daily WiFi, medical consultations on board, and regular housekeeping and laundry services.

The itinerary for Villa Vie Odyssey is as ambitious as it is extensive. Initially setting sail with a relaxing month in the Caribbean, the journey continues through South America for four months. Highlights of this segment include navigating the Panama Canal twice, visiting two of the world’s wonders, cruising through the Chilean Fjords, experiencing the Antarctic up close, celebrating Carnival in Rio, and exploring the Amazon River over eight days.

The ship, capable of accommodating 600 residents, facilitates an inclusive environment where political discussions are sidelined in favor of shared experiences and adventures. CEO Mikael Petterson emphasized the neutral stance of the campaign, stating it was designed to offer a peaceful alternative for those feeling overwhelmed, regardless of their political inclinations.

Despite its luxurious offering, the Villa Vie Odyssey is no stranger to challenges. Recently, it faced an unexpected delay due to necessary repairs while docked in Belfast, pushing back a scheduled three-year world cruise. However, the ship set sail from Belfast Harbour in late September, embarking on its impressive 15-year journey around the globe, during which it will visit every continent, explore 13 World Wonders, and anchor at over 100 tropical islands.

For American citizens concerned about their civic responsibilities, the cruise has also addressed voting rights. Travelers on board during the U.S. midterm elections in 2026 and the presidential election in 2028 will have the ability to cast their votes via mail-in ballots, which will be coordinated through the cruise line’s corporate office.

Villa Vie Residences reports a significant surge in interest following the announcement of the Tour La Vie program, indicating a robust market for those seeking a respite from national politics in a high-end, itinerant lifestyle.
