Oudtshoorn Municipality Fosters Eco-Consciousness with Water Conservation and Tree Planting Initiatives

In partnership with South Africa's Department of Water and Sanitation, the municipality visited five schools between October 7 and October 11, 2024, as part of a commendable Water Awareness Campaign.

Parallel to the water conservation efforts, October 15, 2024, saw the onset of the Greening of the Greater Oudtshoorn Initiative. Riding on the celebration of 30 years of freedom, this project promotes environmental conservation and sustainable forest management. A significant thrust of the initiative is to engage local schools in planting indigenous trees, thereby enhancing the local ecosystem, and fortifying the community's defenses against climate change.
