Hawks Apprehend Alleged Killers in West Rand: Constable Nthabiseng Mosidi and Taxi Owner's Murder Linked to Taxi War

In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Gauteng, the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, together with the Tactical Response Team (TRT), have arrested four suspects linked to the brutal slaying of a South African police constable and a local taxi owner. The deceased, Constable Nthabiseng Bridget Mosidi, aged 46, and taxi owner Nkosinathi Ndlela, were ruthlessly gunned down outside the Kagiso police station. Witnesses described a chilling scene where a blue iX 35 Hyundai pulled up beside the victims’ parked vehicle and unleashed a barrage of bullets, leaving the two to perish from their injuries at the crime scene.

All four male suspects, aged from 27 to 46, have alleged ties to this fractious sector. Notably, three of the suspects are blood relatives, a factor that may have facilitated their purported collaboration in criminal activities.

The operation led to the successful seizure of four AK-47 rifles and an assortment of ammunition from their residences in Witpoortjie and Mohlakeng.
