A recent study published by Time Out, listing the top 15 most affordable holiday locations based on the 18th annual Post Office Travel Money’s ‘Holiday Money Report’, placed Cape Town second. This ranking is determined by several factors, including the value of the local currency against the British pound and the cost of tourist essentials such as dining and day-to-day items.

In 2024, Cape Town experienced a slight increase in prices for these essential items, with a 5% rise pushing the cost to an average of £54.35. Despite this, the allure of Cape Town remains strong, buoyed by its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and hospitality.
