According to his sister Caryn Tamari, the festival was a familiar and cherished getaway for him. She recounted his excitement on the first day, as he communicated about setting up his tent and his contentment – a sentiment that tragically transformed into the final update provided to his family.

Alarm bells sounded when Schroeder failed to respond to messages from his family over the weekend. As the festival came to a close, a somber discovery was made: Schroeder's tent remained, abandoned except for his personal belongings, which pointed towards an abrupt and uncharacteristic departure.

His absence has sent ripples through the George community, as family, friends, and festival attendees collectively experience the gravity of his vanishing. In a poignant admission, Tamari expressed the family's fervent hopes for Schroeder's safe return, terming it as waiting for a "miracle."

Sergeant Fumanekile Nofemela of the George Detectives office and the national hotline Crime Stop have been enlisted for assistance, reinforcing the call for any information that may shed light on Schroeder’s fate.
