South African Justice Department Tackles Corruption with Turnaround Strategy

Following the discovery of systemic corruption and malfeasance within South Africa's legal infrastructure, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has announced the implementation of an all-encompassing turnaround strategy to rehabilitate the Office of the State Attorney and the Master’s Offices. This initiative is the latest attempt by the government to root out corruption and improve efficiency within key state departments.

During a press briefing held in Pretoria, Justice Minister Thembi Simelane disclosed the Department's proactive measures in confrontation with instances of corruption that had been unearthed by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU). These measures represent a concerted effort to maintain the integrity of legal services provided by the state.

The strategy aims to resolutely address and rectify issues raised by the SIU, with particular focus on fraudulent activities, malfeasance, and corruption.
