New Chapter for Leander Kruger as he is Sworn in as DA MPL in Eastern Cape

In a significant ceremony imbued with expectation and promise, law graduate Leander Kruger was officially sworn in as a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) for the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape. At 33 years old, Kruger steps into this pivotal role after filling the vacancy left by former MPL Nqaba Bhanga. The induction of Kruger, a former Nelson Mandela Bay DA Councillor, marks a continuation of his committed political journey with the DA, a testament to his potential and the party’s confidence in the younger generation's leadership capabilities.

Kruger, whose academic accolades include a master's degree in Law from Nelson Mandela University and recognition as a graduate of the prestigious DA National Young Leaders program (Class of 2018), brings a wealth of experience and vigor to the table. His ascension to the provincial leg of governance as one of the youngest members, and the youngest in the DA caucus, serves as an emblem of progressive change and the ushering in of new perspectives within the legislature.

In his new capacity, Kruger is set to function as the Shadow MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs, and Tourism.
