The most recent successors of the matric information technology (IT) exam in Western Cape, South Africa, has been triumphantly confirmed. As announced by the Western Cape Education Department (WCED), the exams, which concluded on Wednesday and numbered 1,000 candidates, proceeded seamlessly, exhibiting no incidence of failure or disturbance, advanced or otherwise.
However, it wasn't just the IT exam that maintained a steady course; preceding it was the computer applications technology exam which transpired on Tuesday. It, too, echoes the success celebrated on Wednesday. A whopping 11,731 candidates took the exam, the process, much like its successor, also concluded with zero unplanned incidents.
The Western Cape Education Department gave kudos to the stellar performance exhibited. “The IT exam also proceeded smoothly with no issues. “Great work all round by our officials and schools,” the WCED stated, confirming its satisfaction with these outstanding results.
The train of education, it appears, doesn't halt at the IT station. Following the smooth sail of the IT and Computer Applications exams, the National Senior Certificate (NSC) written exams are projected to commence on Monday, October 30. The applicants for this next phase are numbered at 66,831, and they will all be taking English Home Language, First Additional Language, or Second Additional Language in the morning sitting.
With a total of 123 exam papers lined up for this exam period, which is scheduled to terminate on December 5 with agricultural technology, it is clear that the Western Cape Education Department is setting a high standard for education professionalism and success.
