The highly anticipated second Powerball jackpot winner from South Africa has come into the spotlight, claiming the jaw-dropping R64 million prize from the draw held on October 17. This individual was one of two lucky winners who split the staggering R128 million Powerball jackpot.
Unlike traditional lottery ticket purchases, both winners bought their chances of becoming millionaires through online banking platforms - Absa and FNB. The first winner, an Absa customer, previously disclosed her intentions to buy her dream home with the winnings.
The National Lottery operator, Ithuba, confirmed that the long-awaited second winner bought his ticket through FNB. Recollecting his initial excitement, the jackpot winner shared that the aspiration to launch his own thriving business is now a foreseeable reality, courtesy of his unexpected win.
He emphasized his dream was not newfound, instead, something he has been cultivating for years. With a substantial amount of his winnings set aside for savvy investments, he plans to guarantee a comfortable future for his family and himself.
In a heartwarming conversation with Ithuba, he disclosed that his faith in his good luck had deep roots within his family. “My father, a dedicated National Lottery player, instilled in us the belief that one day we would hit the jackpot. Today marks the manifestation of his words into a majestic reality,” he said.
Expressing her delight at such an inspiring win, Ithuba CEO, Charmaine Mabuza, acknowledged the vital role hope and tenacity play. She further added how heartening it is to witness players have their loyalty rewarded and dreams come to fruition. The entire team at Ithuba is looking forward to enriching many more lives in the future.
