Gqeberha-based Automation Company, S4, Wins Third Exporter of the Year Award

S4, a leading automation and machine-building company based in Gqeberha, has once again been recognized as Exporter of the Year by the Exporters Eastern Cape organization. This marks the company's third-time winning the prestigious award, having successfully bagged the title in 2018 and 2020.

Under the review period, the company observed an impressive upswing in its performance, recording an upturn of 118% in turnover and a leap of 125% in profitability. Much of this success, according to Marketing Manager Gideon Smith, is due to the company's strategic move towards international automation, in addition to its established software exporting.

He affirmed that diversification into larger valued projects and international domains was the primary catalyst for escalated profits. The company has been exporting since 2008, its reach extending to the United States, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, China, and Mexico.

The recent establishment of a sales office in Germany has also played a pivotal role in forging new opportunities, consolidating the company's footprint in the European market. Leaning on their Eastern Cape roots, Smith expressed pride as this epitomizes regional competence on a global scale.

Exporters Eastern Cape Chairman, Quintin Levey, lavished praise on all the winners, commending their extraordinary successes amid challenging economic times locally and across the world.
