In an endeavour to empower South African students with better exam preparation, Awqaf SA is offering its annual free mathematics workshops for Grade 10, 11, and 12 pupils. These workshops have been a part of Awqaf SA's initiatives since 2016, with a primary focus on elevating the national maths pass rate.
In partnership with the Department of Basic Education, ISkill and the K-Way Institute SA, these free learning sessions have been designed to reduce examination-related stress and enhance students' confidence levels. Mohammed Khota from K-Way Institute SA will facilitate these workshops, with the curriculum covering pure mathematics.
These online workshops, that managed to attract approximately 13,000 participants in the previous year, are hosted on Awqaf SA’s YouTube and Facebook platforms. This allows students to access these sessions at their convenience once they've been broadcasted.
The Grade 12 mathematics workshops are set to be held on October 14 and 15, covering respective mathematics papers. Workshops for Grade 10 will occur on October 28 and 29, while Grade 11 workshops will be held on November 4 and 5.
Project manager at Awqaf SA, Hasanain Abdullah, cited the workshops' notable effectiveness: “These workshops have helped many learners who have been struggling with mathematics, leading to significant improvements in their marks,” he noted.
The workshops, free and purely online, are aimed to foster not only educational advancement but also future career prospects in IT, Medicine and Accounting. Students are required to register in advance to participate. For further information, visit https://awqafsa.org.za/mathsworkshopfinal/.
