The South African Weather Service has flagged an early warning for 17 September, with inevitable damaging waves predicted to batter several coastlines. Accordingly, aquatic activities and sea exposure should be reduced in the designated areas until the weather situation improves.

The forecast anticipates a cloudy and cool to cold weather pattern in the Western Cape. However, the weather is predicted to rebalance, as the northern and southern parts of the region are projected to experience fine conditions by the afternoon, providing some respite to the citizens.

Wind speeds are expected to be light to moderate from the south to south-easterly direction. It should be noted that strong north-westerly winds may prevail along the south coast, becoming moderate to fresh west to south-west winds from late morning. As the event progresses, winds along the south coast are anticipated to mellow to a light westerly to south-westerly direction.

Residents and visitors of the affected areas are advised to heed this warning and stay updated with the latest weather conditions. Moreover, the public is urged to take this alert seriously and act responsibly to ensure safety during these changing weather conditions.
