Yesterday, former Miss South Africa, Cindy Nell-Roberts, TV presenter, and CEO of Cometix Cosmetics group was one of six people injured in a major truck collision on Kloof Nek Road. The incident occurred when a truck lost control, crashed into multiple vehicles, and then overturned. Authorities have registered a case of reckless and negligent driving following the incident.

The frightening crash was reported at approximately 10:15am on Kloof Nek Road, as confirmed by Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg. "Cape Town Central police registered a reckless and negligent driving case for investigation following a crash on Tuesday morning on Kloof Nek Road involving a truck and five vehicles," Twigg elaborated. Investigations regarding the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

Nell-Roberts was en-route to the Foreshore to film a program for ViaTV when the incident transpired. Speaking to News24 from the hospital, she said she was "traumatised but fine," following the event, whereupon her vehicle was "dragged for 100 meters and spun out of control."

JP Smith, the Mayco member for safety and security, confirmed that the truck driver was also among the injured parties. Traffic disruptions have ensued, with Smith urging drivers "to seek alternative routes and avoid the area until the scene has been cleared." Until late afternoon, parts of Kloof Nek Road and Ethan Street remained closed as emergency personnel laboured to clear the resulting wreckage.
