Elon Musk's baby, X (previously known as Twitter), is setting its prep to compete shoulder-to-shoulder with LinkedIn by incorporating a job listing feature, the Billionaire tech entrepreneur announced. In order to facilitate this, X has started gathering users' employment history, educational background, and even biometric data under the stance of "safety, security and identification purposes".

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO expressed his distaste for LinkedIn in a recent post, stating, "People send me LinkedIn links sometimes, but the cringe level is so high that I can't bring myself to use it, so I ask for the resume or bio to be emailed." His resolve is to make X's LinkedIn competitor exceptionally "cool".

It was just last month when TechCrunch reported on the creation of @TwitterHiring, an official account established by what was then known as Twitter. In an interesting twist, specific verified companies, like Workweek, have been granted permissions to publicize job listings in the form of scrolling cards embedded under their account bios on X.

Nima Owji, an independent application researcher, has already posted a screenshot of a page titled "Start hiring on Twitter", which suggests that companies would get to pick five of their job listings to prominently display as "featured job listings" that are instantly visible on the company's profile. Owji's tweet contained enthusiastic commentary, “#Twitter will allow verified organizations to import all of their jobs to Twitter by connecting a supported ATS or XML feed!”

Musk's revolutionized platform will enable companies to connect a supported Applicant Tracking System or XML feed to quickly upload their job vacancies. This step from Elon Musk is a strong indicator of how he envisions changing the social media and job market landscapes.
