The George Municipality has confirmed plans to conduct a 'dry-run' of the Go George bus service to Thembalethu. These pilot tests, promising comprehensive insight into the much-anticipated bus service, are slated to commence from Tuesday and are expected to span across several days.

According to an official Municipality statement, the dry runs will be coordinated with meticulous efficacy by an assembled team of Safety, Infrastructure, and System Planning personnel. These trials are crafted with the objective of establishing the real-time calculations involved in traversing the various proposed routes by bus. This data will be effectively employed to verify the accuracy of the proposed timetables, ensuring a seamless transportation experience to the residents of Thembalethu.

The township's residents, eager for the bus service to commence, will have to wait a bit longer for the final rollout. George Executive Mayor Alderman Leon van Wyk acknowledged the anticipation surrounding the bus service and assured that these tests are a crucial part of the rollout process. The Mayor refrained from announcing a definitive date for the first phase of the three-stage roll-out, however, leaving the residents of Thembalethu in bated breath.
